Alana Woods Interviews Jason Matthews

Alana Woods is an accomplished Australian author, editor and reviewer. Recently she posted the following interview on her website, http://www.alanawoods.com/.

My guest this week needs no introduction, to the indie author community at least. He’s considered close to being a superstar by the many he has helped towards publishing with his self-help books. But he’s also a novelist with two huge-in-scope works of fiction to his credit.

Alana: Jason Matthews, welcome, it’s a real pleasure to have you here today. Before we talk about your many activities and books could we find out a little about you. You live in California; have you always lived there?

Jason: Thank you, Alana, for the very kind reception. I was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Unfortunately my parents divorced when I was a baby, and my mother, sister and I moved around quite a bit. We also lived in Massachusetts and Ohio while spending summers with Dad in Colorado and Oregon. I returned to North Carolina for college and then moved permanently to California in 1991. I love this state.

Gavin DeGraw's I Don't Want To Be Hits a Chord

This song stirs something. I believe Gavin DeGraw would agree: we all came here to be us and that is what's special. It's not about our accolades, titles, how much money we make, how famous we are, or how perfect our bodies are--it's about doing our special thing, whatever that might be.

Chinese Ebooks Adds The Little Universe

The Little Universe characters Webster Adams, Whitney Adams and Jon Gruber

If it's a little universe then it must be a very small world, which is good for people who like to travel, read and share new thought. Written with that in mind, The Little Universe now has a new residence--in China.
The Mandarin Chinese translation just came out for readers who enjoy Chinese ebooks online, http://www.amazon.cn/.
A star-sized thank you to Mengdi Cao, Shan Zhong, Hanjing and Wenyi for the excellent translation and attention to detail. (Amazing how many concepts can get lost in the cultural differences.)
The Little Universe characters Jon Gruber and Whitney Adams
Also thank you to Xijun for creative artwork, which really compliments the story. These are among the first drawings for the story, which are currently only available in the Chinese novel.
Thank you to my agent and book's editor, Runa Jiang, for making this happen.
Thank you also to Fiberead, http://www.fiberead.com/, the translation publishing company that enabled it all.
If you like to read Chinese ebooks, we've got a book for you.

Amazing Human Potentials for Creativity

Human beings are amazing with potentials for creativity. The internet constantly pushes it to higher levels.

From James Maberly's, Cultivating Intuition: the Power of Original Thought;

I was visiting Zimbabwe and whilst there, chanced upon a workshop run by Francois Le Roux, a classical cellist, encouraging young advanced musicians to play their instruments intuitively; to ‘improvise’ as he called it. Slowly but surely he coaxed a number of them up to play their instruments with him, without guidance, just listening to their own creative intuition and freeing themselves from the necessity of following a written score.
I watched, mesmerised as he drew from these youngsters the most magical sounds, all of their own creation. Tense with anxiety, their first few notes were jarred and awkward but once they realised that they could actually do it, their bodies began to weave with the music and they found a momentum and energy that was delightful to watch. What I was witnessing was each of these young players accessing their own intuitive genius, their own natural creativity unleashed.

10 minutes of amazing human potentials for creativity unleashed.

What do you think about all this? Leave a comment.

DMT Ayahuasca Would You Try These Drugs?

Actually you already have trace amounts of DMT (Dimethyltryptamine) in you. It's naturally abundant in plant life and found in many mammals. The Pineal Gland, in the center of your brain, secretes some DMT during REM state of sleep when dreaming occurs. It's also believed to excrete during Near Death Experience, which may account for the visions some people report during NDEs. Modern science is still unsure of its exact purpose, though they relate it to neurotransmitters and hormones like serotonin and melatonin--while mystics and even a few doctors such as Rick Strassman, study it, use it for rituals and refer to it as the Spirit Molecule.

Why do we want to experience altered states? Deep question--won't get answered in a few paragraphs. Some people try drugs out of simple curiosity, common choices like alcohol and marijuana where the prevalence in society makes us feel safer. Other drugs may be relatively known but scare most people away as with methamphetamine and heroin. The horror stories and overdoses aren't worth the risk for the majority of us. Then there are drugs that fall into grey areas, especially psychedelics like LSD or mescaline, where the average person is intimidated but might be coaxed into trying.

DMT (Dimethyltryptamine) and Ayahuasca (an Amazonian brew containing DMT) are among those grey area drugs--many have never even heard of either while others are curious but would probably have major reservations before experimenting. That's understandable since takers often describe life-changing trips. Even among enthusiasts, DMT is a profound mystery. Commonly reported effects include: fast response, buzzing sounds, geometric patterns, visitation by angels-insects-aliens-spirits of the natural world, portals to other dimensions, connection to infinite wisdom and moments of enlightenment. Some Amazonian Indians use the drug through the plant-based brew, Ayahuasca, as a part of ritual designed to bring awareness for personal purpose and to the nature of life itself.

This is why DMT and Ayahuasca may be so intimidating, from the reports of deeply spiritual, life-changing experiences. Do I really want to delve into the purpose of my existence? Do I really want an experience that might change who I believe I am? These are not easy questions for any person to face head on. See the two videos below: the first is a general intro to DMT, and the second is in-depth and really well done documentary on Ayahuasca at 25 minutes by Alexander Ward.

Very interesting documentary experience with Amazonian Ayahuasca:

Reincarnation? Do You Believe in Past Lives?

How do you feel about reincarnation, life after death, being born again or remembering past lives? A polarizing topic for many, belief or doubt over reincarnation may point to what we want to believe more than anything.
The video below is a fascinating story of a very young child, James Linegar, and his puzzling memories especially from ages two to four of airplanes, aircraft, friends and events during World War II.

If you believe in reincarnation, why do you suppose it happens? Leave your thought or comment.

What's better than a delicious dinner at a great restaurant? Dinner with your lovely wife on your anniversary.

Thank you to my wife, Jana, for years of love and support. Thank you to the staff at Ciopinot in San Luis Obispo, CA for an extraordinary dinner. Enjoying that lobster tail? Looks yummy.

Thank you to whoever invented crème brûlée and pistachio gelato and vodka cream drinks for desert. We left very happy indeed.

Thank you to the kids for staying at home and eating a frozen pizza with a movie and having a great time with it.

Yasiel Puig Vote In All-Star Game 2013

Yasiel Puig deserves it. Vote him in for the 2013 MLB All-Star game. The guy is simply amazing. Nobody has electrified baseball like this since Bo Jackson, and we all know what memories Bo has left for eternity.
Puig could be another shooting star, just like Bo was when injury cut his career short. Don't let the one-month-issue keep this guy from the people who want to see him: the FANS, Papelbon.
Just one month but his stats and performances are mind-blowing, batting .443 with 8 home runs and 17 RBIs in 27 games. These 1st month of career hitting stats haven't been done since DiMaggio in 1936 or basically have never been done, plus he runs with prowess, has opposite-field power and has resurrected the Dodgers from life-support.
As Christopher Walken so eloquently said, "I got a fever and the only prescription is more Puig."
Want to see Puig get there? Go to the All Star Ballot at MLB and write him in (scroll down to the bottom of the page where it says, WRITE-IN).
Of course, it's up to the coaches to play him but we can do our part. Do the right thing, vote him in.

What are your thoughts?

Book Review Copies Available

We're celebrating spring's arrival with the bonanza super sale--author code for free ebooks to readers/reviewers. As usual, the understanding is that reviews will express truthful opinions with utmost integrity, allowing for painful brutality, mushy gushing or anything in between.

Both The Little Universe and Jim's Life are each available for review copies to readers. It is asked that the reader be willing to give a review at Amazon.

That's all it takes to enjoy the books. Easy as 1-2-3. Here's how to order:

1. - readers may contact the author directly at this email: jason (at) the little universe (all one word of course) (dot) com. Mobi, Epub and PDF files are available for your e-reading pleasure.
2. - there is no 2.
3. - put Reading Bonanza Super Sale in the Subject Line and list your file preference (mobi, epub or pdf).

Blurbs of each book below. (Each contains adult themes--readers should be 18 years or older)

What if you could create a universe: a miniature self-enclosed universe? Imagine having probing cameras that could focus to any star or planet looking for life. And once you found life, what if you could accelerate time and watch it evolve? What might you find?

These are not the questions Jon Gruber ponders as he pedals to his next carpentry job. Over thirty and unmarried, he doesn't even own a car. But a new assignment challenges him to rethink his place in the world. Is he a loser? Or is he about to become a partner in an experiment of phenomenal discovery?

Webster Adams, astronomer, inventor, and Jon's latest client, performs such an experiment. To Webster's amazement, he finds planets and cultures beyond his wildest dreams. His little universe turns into a discovery machine--an overnight goldmine. He and his crew observe societies so far past them on levels of technology and spirituality, that the world will be forever changed.

Webster's lovely daughter, Whitney, also overwhelms Jon. She opens his eyes to the deeper meanings within the experiment by finding the most advanced beings within the project--the spirit guides from Theta 7.

The Little Universe is a mind expanding concept. For Webster Adams, one question immediately comes to light. "If I can create a universe," he wonders, "then who created ours?"

Can it be proven that some form of God exists? Or is life random and free-flowing without purpose? Along with Jon, you, the reader, will be presented a new perspective on life and your role in the great mystery of the universe.

A teenage boy on trial can see and heal the human light fields, becoming a miracle healer while the world argues over his case. Sequel to The Little Universe.

Australia 2150 AD

Jim experiences a soul transfer with the body of a 15 year old boy who died in an accident while running from a crime. Jim is revived in the hospital with amnesia and brain damage that affects his pineal gland and vision processing. Too much DMT (Dimethyltriptamine) is produced, a naturally occurring neuro-chemical that causes dreams and hallucinations. His vision is permanently altered so that he can see the light force within people, chakras and auras, as well as his own luminosities. In time he learns to work with these lights and becomes a miracle healer, drawing comparisons to a messiah. All the while he's on trial for a crime he didn't commit.

As his case becomes a source of global interest, two things become clear; a brutal rape occurred and he can now heal others by touch. As the environment reaches a frenzy, everyone wants a part of Jim. Nurses want to sleep with him, endorsements come from every angle, skeptics come to debunk him, patients need his healing touch, and still others want to train him to become the leader he was destined to be.

A story of spirituality, the courts of justice and the power of love.

It's springtime with summer coming soon. That means one thing--reading bonanza super sale! Get your mind out of the gutter and into some great fiction. Hurry while supplies last.

Reviews: "Okay, so I loved 'The Little Universe' and really thought it couldn't be topped, but Jason Matthews has managed to do it with 'Jim's Life.' Though a continuation of the first book, it would make a good stand alone read. Set aside your busy-ness because you won't want to put this one down. I'd describe it as enlightenment-meets-materialism, with humor and an open heart."

The Little Universe: Kindle Book of the Day

The Little Universe is a technothiller that's simultaneously entertaining and profound. When Webster Adams creatures a miniature, accelerated universe that evolves in ways he never could have imagined, he begins to question the idea of creation and our roles in our own universe. If you've been looking for a story that's exciting, original, and impossible to put down, you've found it. Grab your copy today!

Name: The Little Universe
Rating: 4.7 stars over 25 reviews
Price: 2.99
Description: What if you could create a universe - a miniature self-enclosed universe? Imagine having probing cameras that could focus to any star or planet looking for life. And once you found life, what if you could accelerate time and watch it evolve? What might you find? Primordial soup. Strange beings. Alien societies. Profound wisdom.

Webster's lovely daughter, Whitney, also overwhelms Jon. She opens his eyes to the deeper meanings within the experiment - to the divine nature and connectedness of all life, by finding the most advanced beings within the project - the spirit guides from Theta 7.

The Little Universe is a God-game at multiple levels. For Webster Adams, one question immediately comes to light. "If I can create a universe," he wonders, "then who created ours?"

The debate between evolution and creation is the subtle undertone throughout Webster's story. Can it be proven that God exists? Or is life random and free-flowing without design or purpose? Along with Jon, you, the reader, will be presented a new perspective on life and your role in the great mystery of the universe.

Reviews: "The Little Universe is one of those rare books, light enough on the surface to be a fun summer read, but deep enough to keep you thinking about it long after you've turned the last page. The story is absolutely fascinating, one of my new favorite science fiction books."

Healing by Touch? Can We All Do It?

Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel
Can we all really experience touch healing, when one person just touches or holds hands over another and heals that person of serious ailments? Sounds like a Jesus Christ story, and yet it would be wonderful if it were true.
Dr. Eric Pearl believes it is possible and has done it himself many times. He even teaches courses on the subject and writes at length about his personal experience in The Reconnection: Heal Others Heal Yourself. I found it a fascinating story, one that will appeal to many interested in the subject.

Weird Dream Last Night

Why are dreams so bizarre? Sometimes dreams are straightforward, easy to make sense of, but sometimes they leave me baffled. Do you feel the same? Take last night's example;
Imagine two people, a palm-sized crystal, two very special things, and the ability to talk with infinite wisdom. Throw in the risk of evil spirit possession plus empowering that entity, and there you have my dream from last night.
Here's how it all worked:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/pulpolux/542382729/sizes/z/in/photostream/
Two people are needed and two very special things (the grogginess of waking keeps me from remembering exactly what they were). Since I don't have specifics on the things, they may as well be described as a red thing and a gray thing, but I know they need to be pretty close to each other, within a few inches to become activated.

The two people then hold one hand together.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/sugarhiccuphiccup/4540992144/sizes/z/in/photostream/
Finally, one person holds the palm-sized crystal. That's all it takes to begin.

The person without the crystal goes into a trance and becomes the channel for vast information, anything you want to know, sort of Edgar Cayce, akashic records style. The person holding the crystal becomes the receiver of the information, the one who learns anything imaginable.

Add an element of risk: the person in the trance becomes susceptible to dark energies, who are excited by the flow of information. The trance person may even become possessed by evil spirits who might make a verbal effort (not physical, that's not allowed) to acquire the crystal  from the person holding it. This would be bad to give up the crystal to the possessed trance person. Note to crystal holder, "Don't let the evil-spirit possessed trance person have the crystal."

To end the session, just separate the red thing from the gray thing to a distance of a foot or more. Then the activation dies out, the trance ends and the negative spirits go back to wherever they came from.

Then I woke up wondering wtf? I know, it was a strange dream. How about you? Got any?
